Professional Profile

What I Work On

I focus on how organisations manage security, risk and resilience in real conditions, not idealised ones. My work sits across systems, people and process, with a strong emphasis on:

  • Turning frameworks into practical workflows and tools.
  • Analysing risk in realistic, business-driven scenarios.
  • Improving repeatability through automation and clear documentation.

How I Tend to Work

I like to work end-to-end — understanding a system, questioning its assumptions, and iterating until it makes sense. In reality, this looks like:

  • Breaking messy problems down into their moving parts.
  • Exploring, testing, refining, and simplifying.
  • Avoiding blame but communicating limitations honestly.
  • Taking feedback seriously and adjusting quickly.

What I’m Looking For

I’m looking for early-career roles that blend technical security work with risk, governance or resilience. Long-term, I’m aiming for security architecture or leadership pathways where:

  • Trade-offs and constraints are taken seriously.
  • Communication is as important as tooling.
  • Good reasoning is valued over buzzwords.

If you’d like to talk about roles, collaboration or projects:

Highlighted Tools & Projects

Encryption Tool

Encrypt and decrypt text directly in your browser using AES, with all processing performed locally to keep your data private, secure, and fully offline.

Password Generator and Tester

A secure password generator and a dedicated entropy tester. Both tools run locally and also test the quality of the source randomness.

• New

Referencing Helper

Generate consistent academic references with validation, structured lists, and export options, designed to save time and reduce formatting errors during writing and research.

Beyond Cyber

Photography - lumasphere.art

I once planned a career in photography, but it just was not financially realistic. I still take photos when I can, and sometimes they turn out far better than I could ever anticipate, even to the point where people occasionally doubt that I took them.

Automotive - velosophy.org.uk

Velosophy is where my motoring hobby got a bit out of hand. I started by jotting down thoughts and asking why we do things the way we do, and before long I was creating fully referenced formal reports to grasp their underlying principles.

Curations

I collect British coinage, with the long term goal of finding very fine examples of every version of every coin issued since decimalisation. I also enjoy collecting watches, most are watches that caught my eye, or watches with stories behind them.
